Students who want to get involved but aren’t necessarily athletes have plenty of other options at Fremont High School.
Journalism Club
People in Journalism Club are those who want to write and make sure people know what’s going on. They write entries for the website and the Soaring Eagle Spotlight, like this one. Sometimes, they interview the people the entry is about, too. Mrs. Hoos is the sponsor, and the club meets in her room every day during flex. Come on by!
Art Club
Art Club is for those who have some creative spark, or want to have one. They’ve done activities in the past like paint rocks, carve pumpkins, paint murals and make locker magnets. The sponsor is the Art Teacher, Mrs. Bavis, and they meet every Tuesday during flex. Come see what’s up!
Spanish Club
Spanish Club is for anyone interested in practicing Spanish, having fun, dancing, playing games, and listening to music. Even if you don’t speak Spanish, you can join! The current sponsor is Mrs. Frain, and they meet in her room on Fridays during flex. ¡Bienvenido!
Key Club
If you want to help out your community, with things like volunteering, Key Club is for you. In the past, they have organized amazing things for the community like the Produce Box, or the Cinderella Project that allows students to try on and select Prom/ Semi Formal dresses if they can’t get one otherwise. The sponsor is Mrs. Dirig, and they meet every Monday in her room. We would love to see you!
Mental Health Club
The Mental Health Club is run by Mrs. Moore-Bowers, the corporation social worker. They meet on Thursdays during Flex and focus on caring for students’ physical and mental well-being. Listen for the announcements to know when and where meeting are, and come check it out!
FCA
FCA is short for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, but despite the name, welcome everyone, even if you aren’t an athlete! They are currently reading through the book of John from the New Testament, which would include a speaker (guest, student, or teacher), or maybe a powerpoint, activity, or video. The current sponsor is Mrs. Wirick, and they meet every Thursday in her room during flex, and any changes to that would be on announcements. Environmental Club
Environmental Club is for those who want to make a difference in our community’s environment. They are the ones behind the school’s recycling, and have only started last spring, but have big plans for the future! The sponsor is Mrs. Batt, and they meet in her room every Friday during flex. Check it out!
Robotics
If you like robotics and have a knack for creativity, Robotics Club is the way to go. In the past, they have competed in a game called “over under”, and finished top half in the state and world ranking, even under a time crunch and other things. The sponsor is Mr. Baker, and meetings are every Thursday during flex, or whenever possible. Stop by!
