The Steuben County Community Foundation has announced its finalists for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship, and of the six, three are seniors at Fremont High School.
There were 21 applicants initially for this highly competitive, full-ride scholarship to any college or university in Indiana. The six were chosen from this pool of 21.
Fremont’s three finalists are Tressa Howey, Delaney Bock, and Ashland Benner. The other three finalists are Angola High School’s Harlee Henney and and Jedidiah Mortorff and Hamilton High School’s Caleb McMullen.
Each of the finalists met Monday at the Steuben County Community Foundation for the second round of the three-step process toward becoming the winner.
As of the finalist announcement, the following was the plans each of Fremont’s scholarship finalists plans for the future:

Even if not chosen as a winner for the final scholarship, each finalist will receive $2,500 Circle of Friends Scholarship from the foundation.
There are 147 Lilly Endowment Scholarships awarded statewide each year, with the number of available scholarships based on county population. Steuben County is eligible to give away one award.
