FHS Students Adam Handley (second from left), Rylee Hays, and Jillian Allman spent time over the summer working as summer interns in the community through a post-secondary transitions program.
Three Fremont High School students spent time over the summer gaining additional employability skills through an internship program.
These students work during the school year with Katie Weicht, a Goodwill Student Transition Coordinator, to work on post-secondary and transitional skills for once they leave high school.
The summer internship program had them working at places in the community including Rural King, Angola, and the Community Humane Shelter of Steuben County.
Work they completed and things they learned about through the program will continue to benefit them throughout the rest of their time in high school and beyond. Fremont High School teachers Katlyn Beard and Lauren Bryan both said they are extremely proud of these students for taking the time to learn these new, important skills.
